Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, through its Consolidated Community Development initiative, has implemented the Floriculture for Change initiative to empower tribal communities through sustainable and commercially viable agriculture. By introducing floriculture as a short-duration crop, the programme supports women farmers in shifting from ancestral subsistence farming toward income-generating cultivation practices.
This initiative witnessed remarkable participation, with over 300 tribal women farmers across 11 villages successfully cultivating marigold. To support this effort, over 30000 saplings were distributed — 100 saplings per farmer, ensuring uniform and equitable access to resources. Additional support was also provided to Below Poverty Line farmers.
The initiative has significantly increased awareness of sustainable farming techniques, enhanced income diversification, and encouraged a mindset shift toward commercial agriculture. Overall, Floriculture for Change continues to strengthen rural livelihoods and foster long-term economic resilience within tribal communities.
